Tree 8-20 m high.  Leaves odd-pinnate, 17-35 cm long; leaflets 5-10 pairs; ovate to oblanceolate,  5-7 by 2-3 cm.; apex acuminate, base rounded and often oblique; petiole 1-5 mm.  Inflorescence a panicle, terminal, 20-35 cm long.  Flowers white; calyx cup-shaped, 1.5-2 cm long; petals fused at base, bell-shaped; apical part expand to 5 clefts; magin fimbriate; stamens 4.  Fruit a capsule, ellipsoid ,10-16 cm long; sparse with tuberculate glands; seeds small, winged.
