Tree, 6-10 m tall; bark smooth, light brown colour.  Leaves  simple, alternate, oblong to ovate-oblong, 8-15 by 4.5-9 cm; apex acuminate, base oblique; a pair of dotted glands prominent at about the middle of the petiole.  Inflorescence a spike-like raceme, 2-6 cm long, many flowers.  Flowers creamy yellow;  0.3-0.4 cm; sepals cup-shaped, apical part 5 clefts; densely hairy inside; petal 0; stamens 10.  Fruit a nut, 5 winged, coriaceous, 3.5-5 by 2.5-3 cm.
